Some excitement today in Woolwich but in the end no cause for alarm. A suspicious package was found near the town hall adjacent to the fire station but it turned out to contain nothing more than fireworks. The Sagadahoc County Communications Center had received a phone call about the package shortly before it was discovered and town offices were closed while the situation was investigated.
But town offices are now reopening.
