Even though the credibility of people reporting sexual abuse is frequently challenged, as has been the case in the recent lawsuit involving alleged abuse at Brunswick Junior High School, professionals who respond to such abuse are pushing back.

On today’s WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, Melanie Sachs, executive director of Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine, without discussing particular cases, says false reports are quite rare. In fact, Melanie says in twenty years of social work, she has never seen one.
